About Me
Meet Michael Appiah, a Hamilton Counsellor
You may be looking for someone who understands the problem without overlooking culture, faith, identity or the responsibilities you carry. My approach connects that context to practical change.
Born in Ghana. Raised in Canada.
I came to Canada as an infant, and I grew up carrying two cultures at once: the faith, expectations and family structure of a Ghanaian household alongside the Canadian systems and spaces I was raised in. Learning to move between the two, without losing either, shaped how I understand the people I work with today.
As a Hamilton counsellor and Registered Social Worker with more than 14 years of experience, I support individuals and couples through relationships, work, school, faith, identity and major life decisions. I am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
How We Work Together
Counselling works best when it fits the person in the room, not a fixed script. Sessions are collaborative from the start.
Start with a free consultation
We talk through what brought you in and whether the fit feels right, with no pressure to continue.
Make sense of the pattern
We look at what keeps repeating and the cultural, relational or personal context that shapes it.
Build what fits your life
We work toward practical changes you can carry outside the session, at a pace that respects where you are.
Your next step
Get a Feel for the Fit Before You Decide
Watch the introduction when available, read about my approach and begin with a free consultation when you are ready.
