When the subject changes but the argument feels familiar

You may argue about time, money or household tasks and still reach the same point: one person feels criticised, the other feels ignored, and nothing seems resolved. We look at the repeating sequence rather than treating every disagreement as a separate problem.

Recognise the cycle before it takes over

We can explore what sets the argument in motion, how each of you responds and what makes it hard to reconnect afterward. The aim is to discuss concerns more clearly, consider useful pauses and practise ways to return to unresolved topics.

FAQs

What if we argue about the same thing every week?

That repeating pattern can be a starting point. We explore what each person needs understood and what keeps the discussion from moving forward.

Does successful counselling mean we will never argue?

No. The focus is on understanding differences and responding more constructively, rather than removing every disagreement.

What if arguments involve fear, threats or control?

Mention this privately when enquiring so that the suitability of couples work can be considered. Joint sessions may not be appropriate when there is intimidation, coercion or violence.

Can I attend from Toronto?

Yes. Appointments are virtual by Zoom or phone, from a private space in Toronto or elsewhere in Ontario. For video sessions, partners can join from separate private locations within Ontario.

Do you have a counselling office in Toronto?

No.

Are you culturally sensitive?

Yes, I am. My culturally diverse background helps me appreciate both the differences and shared experiences across cultures. I take time to understand your values, experiences and how culture shapes your relationships, without making assumptions.

How much do sessions cost?

Couples counselling is $200 for 60 minutes. Individual counselling is $175 for 60 minutes. A 15-minute consultation is free. Direct billing may be available for eligible plans; coverage depends on your policy.
